It’s the most wonderful time of the year, Ohio!  The holidays are upon us, along with all the twinkling lights, toys and holiday joys.  Here in Ohio, we know how to do the holidays right!  Across the state, a variety of holiday festivals will light up the night, warm our hearts and bring communities together.  Here are a few of the terrific holiday events planned in your neck of the woods!


  1. Cleveland

Glow – Cleveland Botanical Gardens

Cleveland Botanical Gardens is all lit up for its fourth annual holiday festival – Glow.  Fun for all ages awaits at this winter extravaganza, which features live holiday music, tree decorating, gingerbread houses, and lots of sweets and treats.  Tons of activities for kids will be available, including the Garden Express – a magical train ride which winds through the garden, illuminated by festive lights.  In addition, kiddos will love the Treetop Shop, a kid-sized store staffed by friendly elves and stocked with gifts for Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa!  Glow is open Tuesday-Sunday throughout the holidays.  For more information and for tickets, visit:

Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo

Wildlights returns to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, bringing it with loads of holiday fun and activities for the whole family!  Bring your own skates and skate for free on the Holiday Skate Rink (rentals available, as well!)  Enjoy camel rides, a holiday-themed seek n’ find, animated musical light shows and more!  Kids will love the Polar Bear Express Train Ride.  For more information and for ticket prices, visit:

Holly Jolly Jammie Party – Summit Mall

Put on your most festive pajamas and bring your holiday spirit to this event at the Summit Mall in Fairlawn.  You and your kiddos can enjoy milk and cookies while enjoying a story read by Santa Clause!  The event is free for all ages.


  1. Medina

Castle Noel

As the world’s largest indoor-outdoor year-round Christmas entertainment attraction, Castle Noel is the place to be during the holidays. Castle Noel features hundreds of movie props and costumes from your favorite holiday films, as well of millions of dollars of NYC window displays from Sak’s 5th Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, and much more.  Kids will love visiting Santa Klaus Mountain, where they can climb up, see Santa, then slide back down!  For a limited time during December, Mrs. Klaus will be joining Santa at the top!  As well, wear your ugliest sweater on Tuesdays during December to be a part of the Ugly Sweater Contest.  Find out more by visiting:


  1. Cambridge

Dickens Victorian Historical Village

From November until mid-January, downtown Cambridge is transformed into a Dickens Victorian Village, replete with era-appropriate holiday scenes featuring 180 lifelike figurines.  The Courthouse will spring into the 21st century nightly, with a magnificent display of 30,000 lights, synchronized to holiday music.  As well, each Saturday there are two opportunities experience an authentic Victorian Tea Room experience, featuring all the scones, sweets, savories and desserts you would expect from such an affair.  For more information, visit
