3 Easy Last Minute Halloween Costumes

easy halloween costumes

If a friend is dragging you to a costume party on two days notice, or if you have an office Halloween celebration coming up that has been slipping your mind, do not fear! There are tons of easy, unique, and hilarious do-it-yourself costumes that take almost no time or effort whatsoever. You don’t need to be a makeup artist and you definitely don’t need to be a seamstress. You do, however, need to be a procrastinator.

Identity Thief

All you need for this costume is a plain colored t-shirt, regular old jeans, some paper, tape, scissors, and a marker. That’s it. Now, cut that paper into rectangles and on each one write “Hello, My Name Is,” and a name beneath that (make sure it’s a different name on each one). Do you see where this is going? Now tape those paper rectangles all over your shirt and voila! You’re an identity thief.

Pro tip: If you really want to step this costume up, go out and pick up those pre-made name tags with the adhesive backs.

Formal Apology

If the first costume is a little too laid back for your style, this one may be right up your alley. The main supplies you’ll need for this customer can most likely be found in the back of your closet. Dig out your fanciest getup. You know, that suit or dress you wear to weddings maybe once every 3 years. Pair that with your nicest shoes and you’ll want to do your hair for maximum effect. Now, take a sheet of paper, cut a hole in two corners and tie a string through them like you’re making a really oversized name tag. In cursive, write, “I’m Sorry” on it and wear it like a necklace… You’re a formal apology!

Ceiling Fan

Here’s another extremely effortless costume for the lazy costume party-goer. For this costume, all you’ll need is a solid colored t-shirt and a large marker of a different color. If you’re a little more crafty, trade the marker for fabric paint. If you don’t have markers and don’t know what fabric paint even is, that’s okay. A roll of duct tape will do just fine! All that’s left to do now is to write on your t-shirt in big bold letters, “Go Ceiling!” Get it? You’re a ceiling fan! If you opted for tape, just cut out big letters and stick them right on.

Get creative! Hopefully these super easy last-minute costume ideas inspire you to use your imagination and come up with your own one-of-a-kind costume using items you already have. They’re simple to do, take almost no time, and are completely free. You can’t go wrong!
